Doctor visit

Posted in Uncategorized on October 26, 2010 by Christopher Visavati

Well I got back from my doctor and not only does he want to fix my hiatal hernia, he also wants to do a gastric bypass.  He said due to my weight, the hernia, asthma, high blood pressure and a few other things, he recommends the surgery.  He wants to “fast track” me  for it.  Basically getting it done within three months instead of the standard six.

We will see what happens.

Test results

Well I just got back from my doctor and I found out that I have a paraesophageal hernia, pictured on the far right.  Except mine is twice that size.

My doctor said I will need to have surgery done.  He said it is a time bomb.  If I don’t get it fixed, it can and will kill me.

He also said that is what is probably causing my stomach pains.  He said he can’t do the surgery, so he is referring me to Geisinger Danville.  He said that they can go through my navel.

Hopefully it won’t take too long to get scheduled and get it done.

Memory…

Daylight
See the dew on the sunflower
And a rose that is fading
Roses whither away
Like the sunflower
I yearn to turn my face to the dawn
I am waiting for the day . . .

Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan

Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Every streetlamp
Seems to beat a fatalistic warning
Someone mutters
And the streetlamp gutters
And soon it will be morning

Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I musn’t give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
The streetlamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning

Touch me
It’s so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me
You’ll understand what happiness is

Look
A new day has begun

To me, this has to be one of the most powerful songs from “Cats.”  The character, Grizabella, was played by Betty Buckley in the original Broadway cast.  Out of all the ones I have seen, she is the best.

A little bit of background on Grizabella, in my opinion, in her youth she was a very beautiful cat and was very well treated and kept.  As she aged, she was mistreated and longed for the days of her youth and beauty.  Throughout the play, the other cats don’t know how to react towards her.  Some are sympathetic to her and others are mean.  But after the song Memory, all the cats have a different attitude towards her and all feel sympathy towards her and finally understand.

What to say….

It’s been a couple of days since I’ve been on here.  Maddie seems to be doing better, although not eating as much as she usually does.  She sleeps a LOT now.  I’m just hoping that she will be fine.  I know that she is almost 13 years old, well past the life expectancy for a Rottweiler, 8-9 years.

I am still a little on the down side, I don’t know why.  I’ve talked to a representative from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh about taking online classes for graphic design.  We will see how that goes.

I guess that will be it for now.

Maddie…

Maddie seems to be doing a little better.  Fed her some red meat that I had gotten from PC with some extra “juices,” if you know what I mean.  She is still sleeping a lot and has been on her feet a little more today than yesterday.  Hopefully the meat will help her out.  I guess I’m going to have to start giving her more meat in her diet to help with her iron.

My poor baby girl.

Maddie

Maddie, my Rottweiler, seems to have taken a turn for the worse.  She has been shivering and she hasn’t been walking around very well.  Her breathing is seems to be strained at times and it looks like she is trying to push something out.  She doesn’t want to eat and she doesn’t want to drink.  Her gums are pale and almost white.  She had some kind of seizure earlier, but now she is resting comfortably.

Maddie will be turning 13 in December, hopefully she will be around for that.  Tomorrow I will see if she will eat some red meat to get some iron into her.  That seemed to have worked before, but I really don’t know at this point.

She is my baby.  I will be lost without her.

Be well my baby girl.
